Grace and Alex

Alternative, confident, and unique are all words I would use to describe this sweet relationship. First of all, Alex has the coolest job ever. He's getting his Ph.D in volcanism [not to be confused with a Vulcanism or anything else Star Trek related]. AKA he studies volcanos.  After learning that and only spending five minutes with them, I quickly realized that these two were some seriously fun, wildly in love, quirky kids. I relished every part of this stroll through downtown Chapel Hill as Grace and Alex recalled where they met, where they went on a first date, and their frequented joints where they fell in love. As we moved from spot to spot, they filled me with stories and memories. We sipped iced coffee and they shared with me their really cool wedding tattoo idea (which you will just have to wait and find out about in September!). And obviously, we did a LOT of laughing. It couldn't have felt less like a shoot and more like a date (with me as their third wheel). As I gear up for their wedding in early September, I'm revisiting this great session. I cannot wait, guys!

Oh hey haven’t posted in a hot minute but I guess that’s how life goes. Babies, sickness, moving, and the quiet trucking a long of running this business. I have loved working hard to balance, although not always well, because I do, in the

Photo sessions with me should always involve movement, actual fun, and maybe some liquid courage to help with the first two things.

It turns out that your favorite restaurant or bar can make for a beautiful wedding photo backdrop. All the props to downtown Cary’s @themaytoncary and @sidebarnc for the stunning locations for Karen and Wills wedding day!
I was only 7 days postpartum when I took these, so shooting this in-home newborn session hit differently. I have fresh perspective and compassion for the mamas who get up, shower and do their hair and tidy your home just days after giving birth and s
