Brandon and Nicole

I met Nicole and Brandon at a wedding show. There were so many people swarming around us, hundreds of wedding vendors pouncing on these poor couples like they were prey. I tried to take the laid-back approach, and just wait for good conversations to happen. I’m really glad I did, because I ended up meeting these two. It was noisy and I had to practically yell to tell them all about what we do, but it was worth it. Even in the chaos, I recall Brandon telling me of his involvement in photography, and that is something I love to hear. When we met up to do their engagement pictures, it became quickly apparent that Nicole and Brandon have a natural energy and playful relationship that just made this session memorable. On top of that, we found some of the most enchanting Narnia-esque/Alice in Wonderland kind of light in the trees of Pullen Park. Knowing Brandon's interest in photography, I really wanted to find settings and light that he would appreciate as a fellow photographer, so we played with different lines and framings all around the park all the while learning about what makes them tick. I found out where that energy comes from…these two run, swim, teach swimming, hike, boat, and more. I seriously walked away reevaluating how much Netflix I consume... In all seriousness, Brandon and Nicole are the kind of clients that become friends. I cannot wait to shoot this wedding in June.
