Although it had rained all week, and the slate colored clouds confronted the borders of downtown Durham, Jay and Kristen were determined to make the most of it. We all came prepared with our clear umbrellas and positive attitudes. It sprinkled as we rushed to our cars then we made our way to the Cookery, but besides that, hardly any water actually fell from the sky.

In fact, those heavy clouds did nothing by provide the most moody and romantic backdrop for their pictures. While we played it safe and had the ceremony inside, Jay, Kristen and I walked around the venue taking in the deep blues and grays that reflected into the large window panes of the building. Jay and Kristen were stunning. They were entirely wrapped up in each other and celebrating each moment.

One of my favorite things was their choreographed first dance that they performed for all their guests. They both were laughing and busting moves and genuinely having the best time.

I am so fortunate to capture these kinds of moments and these lasting memories. I wish you both so much joy.
