Katie and Tim
Shooting Katie and Tim's wedding was a little like speed dating. I had had coffee with Katie earlier this year, but because Tim serves in the Navy their wedding planning was all long distance so we weren't able to get to know each other over the usual engagement session. Regardless, The few hours I spend with them on their wedding day was enough to give me a glimpse of just how goofy and crazy they are about life and each other.
I drove up on Katie's grandma's house in the heart of Raleigh and found several women rushing around with mascara wands and bobby pins. It was a bustle getting Katie ready, but she was able to share those sweet morning hours with her her bridesmaids, sisters, parents and her grandparents.
We headed to her childhood church, and the ceremony quickly begun. As the priest began to share a little of the couple's story of how they met in the very church they stood together in that moment, ready to take their vows.
When we hopped in the car to take their portraits, we talked of all things nerdy (which I don't mind saying because I myself profess to be a nerd) like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. These two were just too much fun. They belly laughed, smooshed their faces into each other, and couldn't stop smiling.
It was such a pleasure getting to know you too. We wish you all the goofiness and love that you can muster.
