This last minute booking ended up being on of the most beautiful, darling weddings of teh season. George called me only a couple of months before the wedding day, in search of a wedding photographer. I had officially closed the books on the 2017 wedding bookings, but something told me to make an exception and take this wedding. I'm so glad I did. This one was special. It was more than just a wedding celebrating the marriage of between two people, but a marriage of two families. Jessi's son and daughter and George's daughter were all becoming a family on this perfect December day. Jessi & George wanted to incorporate their kids into the union. So Jessi's daughter, Journey, was the Maid of Honor & Jessi's son, Dillon, was the best man, and George's daughter was the flower girl.

The ceremony was small intimate taking place under stringed lights in the woods with guests gathered around on fresh cut logs from the farm. Jessi & George exchanged vows in front of a large wreath wrapped in florals and on vivid rugs that made it feel homey. Jessi's nephew, the ring bearer carried the ring box crafted & carved from a family member. Being a December wedding it was a little chilly out so Jessi & her girls wore beautiful stoles and the guests were welcomed with the option to take a blanket to keep them from the cold.

At the reception, keeping with the familial closeness of the day, Journey sang the song for George and Jessi's first dance and both the children were the ones to make the toasts at dinner time. Jessi's son actually announced to George and the all in attendance that he wanted George to adopt him officially. I was struggling to keep tears form interfering with my picture taking. I say that honestly. At the end of the night close friends remained around the fire toasting to good times while strumming their guitars. It was the perfect woodland wedding.
